  Because references are so numerous, most of them are not abstracted here. In the appropriate section, they will be referenced.

 

  BLOOM/BLUM/BLUME The initial spelling seems to have been Blum or Blume. Blum is the spelling used by Peter and some of his family that remained in New Jersey. The spelling Bloom was used by William and all his descendants. The Clearfield Co., Pa. spelling is extensively, Bloom.

 

  .1.John Peter (31-Jan1731/1‑May‑1814)

  John, often referred to as Johannus or more frequently, Peter, is mostly clearly identified in documents of his son, William. John's New Jersey will identifies his children by name.

 

  .2.William Sr. (28‑Feb‑1752/4‑May‑1828)

  Is well documented as a Revolutionary War soldier from Hunterdon Co., New Jersey. Further as an early settler to Clearfield Co., Pa. numerous pages exist documenting his family.

 

  .3.John & Isaac

  At this point, a double branch in the Bloom line occurs, Amasa, 2GS of John and Eva Taylor, 3GD of Isaac will mary, unaware that they share the same Grand Parent, William Sr.

 

  .1.John (25‑Jan‑1786/30‑Jun‑1872)

  John was a well known and prosperous farmer of Clearfield Co., Pa. As such, there is significant documentation pertaining to his family as well. John's will also mentions members of his family.

 

  .2.Abraham High (26‑May‑1813/31‑Dec‑1862)

  Abraham died young, sources for his family are "Genealogies And Family Records" by Albert Y. Straw, and the 1850, 1860 census.

 

  .3.Martin Hover (13‑Sep‑1848/31‑Dec‑1924)

  Martin is well remembered by his grandchildren, still living, Genealogies And Family records by Albert Y. Straw, as well as census data, and his will.

 

  .4.Amasa Wilks (8‑Aug‑1885/15‑Jun‑1948)

  Amasa is well remembered by the present generation(s).

 

  .5.Isaac (10‑Aug‑1780/21‑Feb‑1859)

  Isaac's family is clearly documented in Genealogies And Family records by Albert Y. Straw, and verified by Isaac's lengthy will.

 

  .6.William (1806/Oct‑1842)

  William died with several young children resulting in petitions for guardianship which identify his family. William's children are also identified as Grand Children of Isaac, and children of Isaac's late son William, in Isaac's will.

 

  .7.Hannah A. Bloom Miller (1839/    )

  Hanna's children were remembered by her grand‑children, and tradition passed on to 2GC. This tradition is confirmed by census data and newspaper accounts of her children.
