     8.2.1. Sarah Bloom

They came from Amsterdam, New York (New Amsterdam) to Hoboken, New Jersey. The two families were feuding and they slipped off and got married. They left on horseback taking only a crock of peach butter. They went to Belefonte or Centre Hall. Grandmother was born at Rockview Penna. That was there farm and State College sets on what was their Peach Orchid. They sold it to the State and went to New Washington.

note: In Hunterdon Co., New Jersey, 1688-1865, there was a community named New Amsterdam. One of the property Owners at that time, in that community was a Jacob Snyder, lot #20, (10-56), purchased 1797 for 660 pounds. Adjacent lot #14, Henry Mettler, purchased same time. Check this out.

     8.2.2. Mrs. Ruth Blakely

Provided me with the original Marriage certificate for Mary Glasgow & Israel Snyder. Also a birth certificate for Emmie Swatsworth Snyder. Was made by Mary Glasgow Snyder who delivered her. Ruth had the Snyder family Bible in her possession but destroyed it because of it's condition. The pages containing family records had been taken out of it before she got it, so the family data is still somewhere, perhaps Timmey Swatsworth.
