Martin Martin Hoover Bloom worked at farming and lumbering. He was remembered as having been a stern demanding father. While Martin and Mary Coder lived in Clearfield County most of their lives, they did live in Alabama for a short time. Mary was having ill health and they went to Alabama to be near her brother. Her health did not improve so they returned in Jan. 1890, just after Lilly was born. Martin suffered from asthma quite severely in his later years.
