Misc*   Elias F Valentine was was the son of William and Lydia Mehring Valentine. Born January 10, 1832, became mason, went back to school, after father retired assumed farm. Then bought Edward Biggs farm of 100 acres, there he stayed five years. The he purchased another farm from his brother, G. H. Valentine, and another farm of 254 acres in Carroll County where he lived 15 years, had much success. Then he secured the Miller farm in Creagerstown and returned to Frederick County. He stayed there until his retirement in 1899. Most highly respected man in County. He was a hard worker and made a success of various undertakings. Mr. Valentine was a Democrat and committed with the Lutheran Church in Rocky RIdge, he was a Deacon and Elder. Married three times, the first to Anna Enah Munshower, they had no children; second marriage to Mary Susan Wetzel, they had three childred; and the third marriage was to sister of second wife, Anna Maria Wetzel, and they had twelve children.
